If you’ve been visiting here long, or enjoyed Orchids Ablaze, then you likely know that I believe families are important. Whether you love them, hate them, just met them, or wish you never had, they are still important. They are a connection, for better or worse.
I’m fortunate to have a family that I love and that put up with me. I’m so fortunate that I’ve found other families that have adopted me and put up with my idiosyncrasies. I took a long Memorial Day holiday as an opportunity to spend time with them. That means I’m behind on posting here for you. I’m also behind in writing on the next book.
Not just because of Memorial Day, but that’s a story for a different post.
This post is about how much I greatly appreciate the time you elect to spend here on the site and reading my offerings. I’ll get back on track, but the time I spend with my families and the lessons they teach me are memories I’ll be glad to have made in the years to come. And the family characters and their memories will end up in the tales I spin, one way or the other.
To everyone in my families that has sacrificed so that I can do what I do how I want to do it: I will always be in your debt and it will not be forgotten.
I hope that you, gentle readers, made good memories and remembered good people over your Memorial Day holiday.
