Site Polls

No, not the political kind, or even the Nielsen kind. I’m talking about the Veiled Space kind!

We put up a few polls when we first opened up the site that we wanted to get feedback on. The results of the polls are listed below. You’ll also find the impacts your choices made. We’re going to re-open the polls soon and since they are about content for the site and books, feel free to vote again if you voted on the first go-round. We love getting feedback from new and return voters.

Poll Results

  • Rocqelaure took Favorite Character honors.
    • Rocq already had a part in the next book, but his contribution will get beefed up. You definitely haven’t seen the end of Rocq’s involvement in Veiled Space.
  • Short Stories and Background Lore topped the list of content you’d like to see more of.
    • Additional background lore has been added to the site. We have one short piece scheduled to hit the site by the end of February. The second is in editing and should be out in mid-March.
    • Technical note: We’ve stretched the traditional definition of “short story” to include origin stories for characters and “mini-adventures”.
  • Aurora City and SWORD were voted in as the two most important areas you want to know more about.
    • Tagging along with the previous poll result, more lore about Aurora City and SWORD has been posted. As we add more short pieces and lore items, we’ll expand the list of possibilities and get more specific about the items you’re interested in.

I'm on my 5th or 6th career depending on how you count them, but ideally this one will be my last with the kind help of our readers. I've traveled to several states across the U.S., but the Appalachian Mountains of Tennessee and North Carolina will always be where I'm most comfortable. I've been an avid reader of comics for more years than I'm going to mention, but I return time after time to the old pulps. Obviously the Doc Savage books have been a tremendous influence. There's just something about seeing and hearing those characters in your mind's eye, just the way YOU, as the reader, think they should be.. I've been writing poems, lyrics and stories of varying quality since I was in my teens, which means most of my archives are on paper in three-ring binders! I've been creating characters in various RPG systems for at least that long. I've always thought characters made the story: good characters can live on through story after story. It wasn't until the last 6 or 7 years that I felt I could write characters well enough to be engaging. You'll have to let me know how I'm doing.
