SWORD Augment Designation (SAD) System
Since there is no known way to predetermine the exact nature of an individual’s Augmentation even if the precipitating Aurorae Effect is known or can be reasonably assumed, the classification of Augmented individuals is based upon their evidenced abilities and general intent. These designations are used for filing, sorting and retrieval operations and may be accessed only through computer systems authorized and secured in accordance with SWORD Directive #4096.333 and related appendices.
The SAD utilizes alphanumerics and specific terms in long-form and short-form configuration. There are no material differences between the forms. The long-term form is required for all official documentation and storage-of-record. The short-form is a convenience used in coordination with external entities. The designation code is broken down into eleven categories grouped into a series of five distinct divisions. Each category contains one or more levels used to specify gradations within the category.
